Good question. I have to admit that, as I’ve followed “Saving Patty”—even peripherally—it seems to border on Reality Show genre, if for no other reason than that a lot of the events in it were unplanned, and filmed as they happened. John has told me that he periodically changed key elements of the story in order to accommodate new Realities as they emerged.
A classic documentary might more simply be a work of non-fiction without exercising a liberty to alter the content of the non-fiction as new non-fiction transpires. In other words, the filmmaker decides what he wants to cover beforehand, and covers it, and that’s that. No Reality Show there.
I speak, of course, as a philosopher. Although I am arguably the worst blog addict on the face of the Internet, I know next-to-nothing about Reality Show Mentality.
I got an email from greaterpope, who said that he’d been to this site and noted that “Remembering Patty” was nearing completion. I emailed him back with the info you (John/Tito) gave me regarding Sundance, but I didn’t see that the title had been changed to “Remembering Patty.” Off the top, I figured that would be a good title in light of her having died during the course of its filming. And I think “Saving Patty” was a working title, wasn’t it?
There are still a good number of us men who have the idea that only surgery can permanently make the male organ bigger in size. Wrong! There are plenty of other ways which do not have to involve any potentially harmful (not to mention highly costly) surgical procedures. Furthermore these alternative options also prove to bring about a significant amount of growth in size - permanently!
