The hosts desire to ban smileys will make people want to use them. If I did not despise them so much myself, I would use one to be challenging. Anyway, I thought I will post from time to time concerning art experiences in Los Angeles. In the meantime, I will bring up a general topic in the hope to spur debate. Civic art barely exists in Los Angeles. If you know of any piece of sculpture in a public forum that I should investigate, let me know. As it stands, there are too many facile, ugly, derivative murals in LA, especially in the Echo Park, Elysian Park and Silver Lake areas. Oh for a bit of inspired graffitti to deface these eyesores. Even local graffitti seems lifeless. In Europe, graffitti artists take a ferry to Amsterdam, lift special metallic spraypaints from stores (there is a special pink colour that I have only seen in particular places that prove that these artists stole their supplies), risk their lives to paint on adventurous objects like the sides of boxcars and so forth.  Who would risk their neck for art here in apathetic Los Angeles. If any signs of inspired life exist, spread the word.

Methinks the lady doth not like democratic art.
